| Vintage French Chocolate ads are the subject of these prints by artist Martha Newton Furman. All have a crackle finish and are framed behind glass with a washed, antique off-white painted wood frame.
Available in four different styles, there are tones of chocolate brown and country blue, mixed with creams and reds in beautiful designs. Unique wall art prints have an aged appearance that looks worn and crackled in spots, like an old fresco painting.
Chocolat - features a plain rubbed brown background with a rectangle ad which states "Qualite ~ Superieure - Pur Beurre de Cacao - CHOCOLAT - Chocolates de France - P. Bertrand Ltd." The banner has a faint king's crown motif and red seal, against a crackle blue background with faint scroll design.
Chocolat Au Lait - features a pretty scroll motif background of country blue with pale creamy yellow scrolls surrounding an advertisement which states, "Specialite de la Maison - Chocolat Au Lait - M. DeLabarre & Cie - 12 Rue Vendome ~ Paris - France." A single red fleur de lis is centered above Chocolat, which is lettered in cream against a dark brown background with rubbed blue areas.
Chocolat La Parisienne - features a rubbed brown background with faint blue flower motif surrounding a scroll bordered ad on antique crackle cream with the words, "Chocolat - La Parisienne - A Laroux - A Renomee de Chocolat - Aux Eclats de Noisettes - 33% Cacao." Faint red flowers and green leaves add more color to the design.
Chocolat de Provence features a harlequin background of chocolate brown and country blue, with the words, "Qualite - Chocolat de Provence - De Luxe - Amandes - Pur Miel -Le Bon Chocolat Francais - Marseille" surrounding an image of a Provence country hillside, a bumblebee and flowers.
There are no "flecks" in the frames as shown in the image, the frame is a creamy off-white wash with a subtle rub-through showing the wood underneath. See alternate view for a closeup image (frame shown is on a different print) -- image shown is slightly more white than actual frame color, which is more off-white to match the antique cream colors in the prints.. Print is framed behind glass. |
